São célebres as palavras de Moshe Dayan, um dos heróis de Israel “deixem-nos apodrecer no seu próprio molho.”
O politólogo palestiniano Abdul Jawad, afirma que Israel sempre jogou na divisão entre os palestinianos (favoreceu o Hamas no fim da década de 70) e nunca aceitou a solução de dois estados, como foi definida pela ONU; o que Israel sempre pareceu pretender, segundo Jawad, foi levar o povo palestino, àquilo que designou por "sociocídio".
Após as eleições, ganhas pelo Hamas, e antes do ultimo ataque ao Líbano, acreditei, optimista que estava aberto o único caminho possivel, o reconhecimento mútuo entre Israel e a Palestina.
Enganei-me redondamente, depois veio a crise do Libano, as manipulações de fora, não interessa agora se América ou o Irão, o que interessa é que os factos são estes... acabámos nisto.
E com o Líbano a caminhar para isto; com tropas europeias e portuguesas, não preparadas, mas bem no meio...
