A tragédia voltou ao Mundial de Ralis com a morte de Michael Park (39 anos), navegador de Markko Martin (Peugeot 307).
Despistaram-se na classificativa de Margan, a antepenúltima do Rally de Gales, com o infeliz navegador a suportar do seu lado toda a força do embate numa árvore, não resistindo.
Com Loeb na frente, podendo ficar aqui campeão, a Peugeot retirou-se.
